
Here's a pic of me last July 4th, helping the Artillery Company of New Mexico carry their garrison flag in the annual parade in Corrales, New Mexico. As you can see, this is a Very Big Flag. It's as wide as Corrales's main street from shoulder to shoulder, and that's on the short dimension. It takes at least a dozen people to carry this thing without dragging it in the dirt.
Speaking of which, this is a good time to brush up on flag etiquette. I saw a flag flying in the dark the other night - in a church parking lot, no less! Very bad form. The only time you should fly the flag at night is if it's illuminated.
